Wednesday scent of the day 4/29 :: Now Smell This

Lovely photo! I didn’t even know dogwoods came in a a pink variation. I’ve only seen the white ones when I lived in Western NC.

Today, I’m in a favorite from AdV- Delhi from the lovely 10ml bottle. These are my favorite bottles of any perfume I have. They seem simultaneously modern and vintage in design. The scent is chef’s kiss wonderful! Warm, cozy, spicy but never heavy or thick, a transparent cloud of delight.

I woke this morning and was fumbling to get coffee put together as I was looking out the kitchen window. I didn’t have my contacts in and all I saw was a bunch of yellow blobs in the green grass. Dandelions, I immediately thought because they’re very prolific here at the moment. Then, they started MOVING! I thought I’d gone bonkers but grabbed my phone so I could actually see what was happening and it was an entire flock of Goldfinches! I’ve seen these birds here and there and at feeders, but they were alway solo. This was a whole flock hopping around having a tasty breakfast right outside my window. I didn’t even notice the females because they are so drab, but the neon yellow of the males hop, hop, hopping all over made me smile. Such pretty little birds! I went for a short stroll later in the morning and the birdsong here is amazing. My Merlin bird ID app counted 7 species twittering away in just about 10 minutes. If you can have a cacophony of birdsong, it’s at this spot because they are very talkative.
