Sniffapalooza Spring Fling 2026 Hernando’s Badge
On the morning of Saturday, April 18th, Downtown New York City, we were greeted by seasonable spring weather with blue skies, which only enabled the ardor of the fully attended event (the 38th edition). The thirteen participating stores and six guest speakers were prepared for the passionate group’s fragrant enthusiasm. The starting point, Elizabeth Street, smelled divine.
The New + Limited Edition BRAIN DEAD x MALIN+GOETZ
Sniffapalooza Spring Fling got underway at Malin + Goetz. The brand has a collection of luxury fragrances and candles inspired by traditional apothecary ingredients. The New + Limited Edition BRAIN DEAD x MALIN+GOETZ is a collaboration that introduces a leather capsule collection featuring perfume oil and candle, which features notes of lotus flower, pepper, clove, muguet, orchid, green violet, leather, cedarwood, and sandalwood. All products are made locally, and only the highest-quality natural ingredients are used. Best, they are never tested on animals.
Korres is an internationally recognized leader in the natural beauty industry, founded in 1996 with a commitment to clean, ingredient-first Greek formulations. The brand operates an ethical “seed-to-skin” model, sourcing exclusively from local farmers to support the Greek agricultural economy while ensuring the highest botanical quality. As a PETA-certified organization, Korres continues to set the standard for heritage-driven skincare that balances traditional homeopathy with modern scientific innovation.
The Naxos Apothecary and Korres Retail Manager, Shannah Pryatel, working with fragrance aficionados, Sniffapalooza Spring Fling 2026
Located directly across the street from Korres, The Naxos Apothecary serves as its sister boutique and acts as a sophisticated, Aegean-inspired hub for natural luxury. Retail Manager Shannah Pryatel showcases the brand’s exquisite, natural fragrances and candles, which evoke the rich history, culture, and endemic flora of Naxos. Merging scientific expertise in phytotherapy with soulful storytelling, this apothecary offers personalized herbal cosmetic remedies, presenting a curated selection that brings the essence of the Cyclades to New York.
Hez Binkowitz of Hez Parfums and Karen Dubin, Founder of Sniffapalooza at Le Labo
Le Labo’s Flagship boutique’s atmosphere is pure artisanal, and its quintessential fragrance and candle collections are all on display. The attentive staff presented the brand’s latest release, Violette 30, inspired by the secret language of flowers. This scent centers on the crystalline white violet, weaving together unwound floral notes and white tea with the deep, earthy resonance of cedar and guaiacwood. Le Labo’s laundry and multi-purpose Body-Hair-Face collections mirror the exquisite artistry of their signature scents. The adjacent extension meets men’s grooming and beauty needs by seamlessly completing the modern man’s grooming ritual. Le Labo is a significant destination to experience.
Team Karen: Karen Adams and Karen Dubin, Founders of Sniffapalooza at Blueme, Sniffapalooza Spring Fling 2026
In 2022, fragrance industry veteran Mei Xu launched Blueme, a brand specializing in seven curated, science-based fragrances designed to enhance emotional and physical wellness. Rooted in over 30 years of experience and neuroscience, Blueme offers functional “quiet luxury” designed to facilitate moments of restoration. The brand’s Manhattan flagship store serves as a key draw, featuring exclusive black vessels and limited-edition Lunar New Year gift sets.
Scent Bar store manager, Vijay Uttam, Sniffapalooza Spring Fling 2026
Scent Bar, the retail home of Luckyscent, is the ultimate Elizabeth Street destination for fragrance lovers. Store manager Vijay Uttam and his expert team offer a true “scent sanctuary,” consistently nailing recommendations from an elite lineup of independent niche brands. Between their unmatched selection of perfumes and candles, customers (me included) were gravitating toward many fabulous fragrances, and three scents got my attention: Comme des Garçons’s Dia x Meg Webster (Emilie Coppermann), Andrea Maack’s Indigo (Celine Barel), and Giardini di Toscana’s Oro e Miele (Silvia Martinelli). And, big buzz for the new Scent Bar Brooklyn (Williamsburg), scheduled to open later this month (April 2026).
Olfactory NYC’s Mott Street flagship is a hotspot for Gen Z and Millennial scent seekers, pairing elite-level perfumery with an accessible price point and a vibe that just works. The big draw is their hands-on customization, where you can tweak and bottle a signature scent on-site so it’s always fresh and uniquely yours. With new boutiques popping up in Atlanta, Miami, and a second DC location, it’s clear this personalized model is a major hit.
Back room at Mizensir, Sniffapalooza Spring Fling 2026
Mizensir on Prince Street is a magnificent boutique that highlights the creations of Master Perfumer Alberto Morillas. General Manager Jennifer DiCesare and staff presented the extensive and impressive collection of fragrances and candles, which captivated all. She premiered the new Ylang Spirit, a sun-drenched and sensual scent that blends sparkling citrus with a lush heart of ylang-ylang and jasmine, settling into a creamy vanilla and musk finish. The store currently has the only bottle available in the USA until its release in early May.
Granado’s second Manhattan boutique opened at the end of last year on Prince Street. I do not believe there is a more colorful fragrance store! It’s like entering a lush, tropical forest. Besides fragrance, the SoHo outpost of Brazil’s oldest perfumery, dating back to 1870, stocks skincare, cosmetics, and home goods. Three recent releases, Suede (Ilias Ermenidis), Neroli (Véronique Nyberg), and Madrepérola (Antonio Gigli) were featured to much commendation.
The Commodity Fragrance store on Crosby Street was a major draw for all the scent enthusiasts to get fully immersed in the brand ethos and experience the innovative Scent Space blends, which let you plan how you want to show up by offering three versions of every fragrance, each with a different projection level. By adjusting the notes, the scents range from personal and intimate to bold and room-filling. Recent release, Milk Orchid (Christelle Laprade), is an airy, floral gourmand that is nostalgia, bottled. The top notes of Fig Milk and Magnolia melt into a heart of Vanilla Orchid and Macadamia Cream. The fragrance is a collaboration with perfume connoisseur Emma of Perfumerism. This scent is an airy, modern evolution of their original Milk fragrance.
D.S. & Durga, Mulberry Street Sniffapalooza Spring Fling 2026
On Mulberry Street is husband-and-wife duo David (D.S.) and Kavi (Durga) of D.S. & Durga boutique. They bring their passion for music, art, travel, and design, and weave it into every element of their brand. The scents, candles, and the design of their uber-hip stores reflect their ethos. Recently released Debaser in Bloom (David Seth Moltz) is a reimagined version of Debaser. By pairing the original’s heart with white currant, gardenia, and cream, this is a modern, fig-forward perfume brightened by crisp fruit and lush white florals.
Lunch at Little Italy’s La Mela is a five-course affair paired with a line-up of six speakers. Buon appetito!
David Ecker, Sniffapalooza Spring Fling 2026
With passion and enthusiasm, Fragrance Specialist David Ecker was busy presenting and describing five luxury house fragrances. Trudon (Yann Vasnier) Mortel Noir (this release replaces the 2023 edition), with its 27% concentration, stands out as a true Parfum, offering a rich, long-lasting trail, and more instinctive and potent than the original Mortel. Strange Heavens Out Of The Blue by Clive Christian (Céline Herbette and Kamila Lelakova) has a 25% perfume oil concentration that uses headspace technology, which captures molecules through an alchemical process unique to the perfume house. Juliette Has A Gun Not A Perfume (Romano Ricci) is a musky, mysterious perfume, which is in contrast to Powder Love (Romano Ricci), a flirty and fun candied affair. Fugazzi Angel Dust (Bram Niessink) is a bit of a peppery citrus fragrance that gives a clean sheen, and Vanilla Haze by Fugazzi is a bold, creamy, nutty, and sugary toasted gourmand. David brought out the French niche fragrance house Du Bois (they specialize in Oud fragrances). Wild Orange (Shadi Samra) is a high-end citrus-woody fragrance that has a most realistic, intense burst of orange, mandarin, lemon, and bergamot. Sirène (Nanako Ogi), a bold, syrupy cherry fragrance that balances dark fruitiness with a bite of spicy pepper, and Lucius (Jordi Fernández), a modern scent with sharp citrus and pink pepper that’s a crowd pleaser.
Kate Cutler presenting J-Scent Parfums, Sniffapalooza Spring Fling 2026
Kate Cutler, founder of the brand-scaling agency Early Arrival, showcased J-Scent, a Japanese fragrance house launched in 2017. The brand merges traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern technology to create scents inspired by daily life, nature, and the four seasons. The brand has recently expanded with the three-piece Profound collection. Black Leather” (from J-Scent collection) won the Best New Niche Fragrance Award in the Pure Beauty Global Awards 2019. For me, Sumo Wrestler (misleading name!) was my favorite with notes that include Musk, Patchouli, Violet, and orange blossom.
Dave Kern ,co- founder, American Perfumer, Sniffapalooza Spring Fling 2026

Brands involved include Aether Arts Perfume Honeyed Vetiver, DSH Perfumes, Aroma M, and Phoenix Botanicals, and perfumers of note include Rodrigo Flores-Roux, Neil Morris, and Christophe Laudamiel.
Coco Quill, Founder of Whiskey & Woof, blends a love for canine companionship with sophisticated, gender-neutral scents inspired by the worlds of bourbon and tech. Founded on a mission to reimagine traditionally masculine musks through a sustainable lens, the brand offers hand-poured candles and unisex fragrances crafted from non-toxic coconut wax and phthalate-free ingredients. Leaping Bunny Certified and vegan-friendly, every product is proudly sourced within the US to deliver high-quality, eco-conscious luxury for dog lovers and explorers alike.
Aba Gyepi-Garbrah, a Brooklyn-based Certified Aromatherapist and holistic formulator, founded Aba Love Apothecary to transform skincare into a sensory healing ritual. By prioritizing aromatic harmony and purity through genuine essential oils and resins, the brand offers intentional self-care designed to honor one’s authentic nature while providing visible, plant-powered results.
Hez Binkowitz, Perfumer, Hez Parfums, Sniffapalooza Spring Fling 2026
Hez Binkowitz and Hez Parfums have reached several major milestones. The entire collection is now available in both 50ml and 10ml sizes, featuring elevated, luxury packaging and the addition of bespoke fragrance services. His brand has been expanding its lineup, and today, Hez presented two scents: Rue Oud (2025), a delicious progression of the boozy vanilla-inspired Bourbon Street scent, and the woody 504 (2024). Hez concluded his presentation with a moving tribute to his late mentor and best friend, David Falsberg of Phoenicia Perfumes. He shared how David mentored him with rare transparency, gifting him both “guarded” industry secrets and exclusive materials like private-stock Ouds and musks. David’s mentorship was defined by a selfless desire to see Hez succeed; upon his passing, David entrusted the future of Phoenicia Perfumes to Hez, who now serves as the brand’s caretaker.
After the five-course lunch, the last two stops were more than worth the walk: the Amouage SoHo Boutique and Trudon’s elegant “jewel box” shop.
Amouage SoHo Flagship boutique, Sniffapalooza Spring Fling 2026
The Amouage SoHo flagship boutique, relocated to a larger space on Spring Street last year, is a sensory installation merging Omani desert heritage with New York’s industrial soul. The design balances hand-laid brick ruins against champagne-toned metal, all lit by a lighting system that mimics a shifting desert mirage. Inside, rare fragrances are displayed as artifacts on red marble tables, while a modern Majlis lounge offers a serene space for traditional hospitality. It is a seamless dialogue between roughness and refinement.
TRUDON SoHo Boutique, Sniffapalooza Spring Fling 2026
Established in 1643, Trudon stands as the world’s oldest candlemaker, continuing to craft artisanal masterpieces at its Normandy workshop. The boutique invites visitors to immerse themselves in the brand’s legendary scents and discover its sophisticated Eaux de Parfums. Recent highlights include the Altaïr collection—a stunning fusion of oud and rose by Émilie Bouge—and the striking relaunch of Yann Vasnier’s Mortel Noir.
Thank you, Team Karen (Karen Dubin and Karen Adams), for a spectacular Sniffapalooza Spring Fling 2026 to remember. Looking forward to seeing you at the Fall Ball 2026!
