Scent, Conversations And New Horizons: CPL Aromas At Paris Perfume Week

Paris Perfume Week reveals innovation, artistry, and immersive scent experiences

Right in the heart of Paris, the iconic landmark Palais Brongniart, which is normally closed to the public, opened its doors to the world of fragrance during Paris Perfume Week. Fine fragrance brands filled the ground floor, showcasing new launches, bestsellers, and, in some cases, debuting to the public for the first time.

On the first floor, the Behind the Scent area brought visitors closer to the craft of perfumery. Here, CPL Aromas proudly presented its signature AromaSpace technology. AromaSpace is a unique collection of perfume bases that form an exclusive in-house palette, available only to CPL Aromas perfumers. Each AromaSpace captures scents from nature and everyday life without destroying their original sources, blending analytical expertise with creative perfumery and innovation.

Through this technology, visitors gained insight into the elements that make fragrances truly distinctive. They explored evocative AromaSpaces such as Mango, Kholas Dates, Petrichor, and Forest, while more daring creations—like Cannabis and Durian—sparked particular curiosity and amusement.

To further discover the science behind scent creation, Glenn Moran, Global Innovation Manager, and perfumer Elise Pierre hosted a conference titled Innovation and Technology Shaping the Perfumer’s Palette. They shared how scientific advancements contribute to the development of exceptional fragrances.

Dialogue continued at the Smell Talks pavilion, where Julien Rasquinet, Senior Perfumer, and Francesca Bonati, Associate Director of Fragrance Development at Amouage, introduced GOWÉ—a newolfactory natural ingredient sourced in collaboration with Amouage. Through a joint initiative in Senegal, the project involved building local infrastructure and working closely with women in the community, ultimately bringing a new, exclusive natural raw material into the world of perfumery.

Beyond the walls of the Palais Brongniart, Hors les Murs events extended the experience across Paris. At the Bastille Design Centre, an intimate gathering featured Contes & Légendes – Cavalcades, a photography exhibition where images of horses were interpreted through scent by CPL Aromas perfumers Julien Rasquinet and Elise Pierre. The experience unfolded as a multi-sensory journey, enhanced by narration from Alexandre Helwani and a live piano performance by Min-Jung Kym. Through this immersive lecture, photography and fragrance were brought vividly to life. Visitors could continue to enjoy the exhibition at Hôtel Drouot throughout the remainder of Perfume Week.
