Before we watch Steven’s video, I asked Will Southard, the perfumer and founder of Third Eye Fragrances Co, about the creative process for Flamango, which has, as Steven notes, is very popular on social media and is constantly sold out. –Michelyn
Born and raised in Florida, I’ve always wanted to create a love letter to home. My goal was to capture as many facets as possible. The opening is a bright, simultaneously tart and sweet, multi-faceted citrus profile, as the entire state is known for many varieties. South Florida brings fun, exotic, and playful energy so a touch of green and fresh mango represents the Miami atmosphere. Growing up on and around the water, the entire scent has a thread of fresh salty ocean air that dries down into a woody, slightly mossy marine base reminiscent of the lush Everglades and sun-soaked boat docks. – Will Southard, perfumer and founder
