There are those of us (and yes, I am one) who are fans of Solstice Scents and Angela St John. Her fragrances add enchantment and creative vision to the world of olfactory art. She has been creating fragrance and other items since 2004, with her artist husband’s support. Thank you both!

There is a certain kind of afternoon, I find myself falling into it as if it were waiting for me; it’s the kind that feels borrowed from another century, time loosens its grip, and the world softens. Wearing Solstice Scents Victorian Picnic, it is as if I stepped straight into that suspended moment. I don’t rush it. I let it take me by the hand and lead me into a quieter, gentler rhythm. It draws me in slowly, and I follow willingly.

As Solstice Scents Victorian Picnic opens, the world around me shifts and somehow deepens—orange blossoms float on a breeze, real and memorable, taking me back to a time long ago of driving down streets lined with orange trees in southern California in the springtime. The air around me brightens as pastel ribbons of wisteria mingle, together with the citrus elements of loquat and lemon. Faintest thread of delicate jasmine trickles in; these florals create a warmth, as if I were touched by sunlight.

Just when the florals settle into harmony, Victorian Picnic reveals its final flourish. The gourmand notes have waited patiently to arrive fully. Toasted pound cake and ladyfingers drizzled with a citrus glaze. It has been said, ” Save dessert for last however, I do not always wait, just as there are glimpses of this buttery sweetness throughout Victorian Picnic. These notes are creamy and indulgent at this point. I can almost feel the soft crumb between my fingers, the buttery sweetness that lingers on my skin after breaking it apart. It comforts me, stirring nostalgia. It feels like a memory I never quite lived but somehow recognize. A shimmer of chilled Riesling adds a gentle fruitiness to the final moments of Solstice Scents Victorian Picnic.

Solstice Scents Victorian Picnic creates a mood of ease and unhurried joy for me. It’s like stepping into a pastoral dream, a place I can return to whenever I choose, where sweetness and florals mingle in the air, lingering long after the day slips away.
