“I’m no ordinary woman. My dreams come true.” Season 2, Episode 6, “The Old Gods and the New“
“When Editor in Chief, Michelyn Camen invited me to collaborate on a 16th Anniversary perfume for her fragrance magazine ÇaFleureBon, I was all in. This marks my fourth contribution to the “Queen Series” of perfumes (cyBorg Queen 2023), Vampire Queen (2024) Snow Queen (2025). These scents not only celebrate ÇaFleureBon as a pillar fragrance community, but also highlight the resilience and strength of women, since each one is inspired by some aspect of feminine fortitude. Michelyn provides the perfume brief, and every time it turns out to be a great source of inspiration. Knowing that I (like her) am a big fan of Game of Thrones, she proposed a perfume to be called Dragon Queen based on the Daenerys Targaryen character. The development of Daenerys, throughout the arc of the narrative, is really remarkable. From her beginning as timid teen to her ultimate emergence as a natural leader, we see Daenerys look deeply within herself to bring forth the inner strength and courage necessary to not only survive, but to thrive in a hostile world. Of course, it never hurts to have your own dragons. Through the use of a very rare ingredient, Dragon’s Blood Resin, Aether Arts Perfume X ÇaFleureBon Dragon Queen perfume references not only Daenerys’s transformation but her beloved dragons. As a perfume material, Dragon’s Blood resin is almost impossible to source. Coincidently, I had a limited amount of this precious, C02-extracted resin. I had been saving the resin for a special project and when I heard the Dragon Queen perfume brief, I knew it was the perfect vehicle for this beautiful, blood-red resin.” Amber Jobin, Perfumer and Owner of Aether Arts Perfume

Amber Jobin of Aether Arts Perfume once again contributes a perfume to the ÇaFleureBon “Queen Series’, a lineage of fragrances born from strength, shadow, frost, and now fire. Each one has asked her to look at women not as symbols, but as a force resilient, unyielding, luminous in their own ways. Daenerys Targaryen is a fascinating character not only for her dragons, but for the way she grows into her own flame. Shedding her fear like old skin rising from the ashes of a world that tried to claim her. Her story is not gentle; it is forged and earned. It is the sound of a heartbeat becoming a battle cry.

The journey of Aether Arts Perfume X ÇaFleureBon Dragon Queen begins tolerantly but already carrying a spark. The first inhale is quick and a little raw, like the early days of Daenerys Targaryen when she was more observer than ruler. The opening is edgy, with a spicy energy, a flicker that hasn’t yet found its purpose restrained, but I can sense something building beneath the surface. The spark catches, propelling forward darker and insistent, like the moment she begins to claim her voice. The spice grows fuller; deliberate now, demanding my attention, shifting from survival to command, there’s tension, as if the air itself is tightening around her will.

Dragon’s blood coils through thick, red as a wound, ritualistic, echoing fire, and something almost mythic. It carries the scent of something ancient, impossible to forget, something that has survived fire before a living ember. It adds depth, and a kind of quiet power, an echo of wings beating against a storm, of a woman stepping into her destiny with her chin lifted, her past burning behind her. Dragon Queen is a tribute to her metamorphosis and to every woman who has ever discovered her own fire.
I can’t ignore the parallel of stepping into the flames and not burning. Smoke is softened by a light touch of vanilla, sometimes feeling like protection, at others like a warning, always returning to something earned, carrying the weight of conquest and consequence. Trails of Incense and woods softening the intensity, no longer only heat but power shaped by purpose. Glowing beneath amber and balsam, a steady warmth, offering the fragile hope she tries to hold onto. Dragon Queen isn’t naïveté; it’s experience, worn like the armor Daenerys’s lived in, marked by battles won and survived.
Season Finale Season 8, Episode 6
Aether Arts Perfume X ÇaFleureBon Dragon Queen is compelling in how it mirrors Daenerys’s path without spelling it out, moving through awakening and settling into something challenging but not unscarred. The fragrance grows into itself, just as she does, and expects you to follow; a quiet authority, not pleading, just present. Dragon Queen doesn’t tell you who she is. It lets you witness it right until the end.
